New rule
Basic Bot Maker was created by Rick Dale for class COMM 131 to illustrate rule-based AI systems for creating chatbots. While simple, it permits the design and deployment of elementary chatbots under if-then action rules. This 'symbolic, classical' AI is intuitive, transparent, and can be powerful when you assemble the right rules in large ensembles. It has obvious limitations in simple form; the tool helps to illustrate these issues, and motivate new advances.
